Mews secures company-wide always-on remote access

At first, Mews needed to secure remote access to their development systems. "All our development happens in Azure cloud, which can only be accessed from a trusted location," says Jan Tauš, Director of IT and Security at Mews."

Our developers used an in-house VPN tunnel with RADIUS authentication to connect to the local branch network, but we had to deal with constant hardware issues. What we needed was something self-managed."

Mews deployed the GoodAccess cloud VPN for a test run, and instantly felt the reduced complexity brought by the SaaS remote access service.

"The major advantage of GoodAccess is that it is completely hardware-free," says Tauš. "It just runs somewhere else; we don't have to manage any infrastructure and can offload all the hassle."

However, it doesn't end with just secure remote access for developers.

"Our employees can easily connect from anywhere via a device of their choice," says Tauš. "For some GoodAccess provides tunneled access to a trusted location, for the rest it's convenient secure access to business apps."

To bolster its security, Mews uses Access Cards to create a centrally-managed, segmented access policy on a per-role basis. "Instead of assigning privileges for each account individually, we can just create profiles and add or remove them as we need. It's super easy," says Tauš.

Finally, GoodAccess provides Mews with always-on company-wide remote access. "For us, this is crucial," says Tauš. "The ability to deny access unless the VPN is on is essential for our ability to work remotely. Knowing that nobody can access our systems without prior authentication through GoodAccess gives us peace of mind."
